- I don't think it was a vote against the United States or the other countries as much as it was a vote FOR South America, given the fact that they have never had the opportunity to host any Olympic games. I think giving it to South America was more than appropriate.

- We also went to school without air conditioning and didn't die. I was able to become an intelligent and functioning adult without preschool. My mother had 5 pregnancies and 5 healthy kids without ultrasounds throughout her pregnancies. We took a multi-vitamin and that was about it.

- Another thing that the article didn't mention is that we did not eat/snack constantly. Fast food wasn't as readily available. We ate cooked meals at home more. And we didn't sit around all of the time watching TV, playing video games, and sitting at the computer.

Jenny while I agree we should of repaid our promised debt to the Phillipines a long time ago, I don't believe now is the time for us to send what little we have out to Foreign countries. If we don't start taking care of our problems and issues in this country and do it quickly, you shall see Economic times and Hardships you never saw possible.
